With regret we say goodbye to a longtime member of the AG Family, Edward Scully. Edward was the founder of Scully Foods in Saskatchewan and today the Scully family still has three great stores in Saskatchewan (Pontiex, Kincaid & Avonlea).
Obituary:
“Edward Patrick Scully, aged 74, of Ponteix, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully on February 17, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents Francis and Beatrice Scully. Ed will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years Patricia (nee Coolican), sons David (Caralee) Scully, Douglas (Janine) Scully daughter Colleen (Patrick) Callaghan; grandchildren Axl (Veronica), Collin, Rory, Jocelyn (Cody), Abigail, Kamryn, Spencer, Callie & Chase; great grandchildren Serenity & Otto; brother Paul (Nilah) Scully, Sisters Mary (John) Breen, Margo (Terry) Hilchey; Brother-in-law Denis (Evelyn) Coolican; Sister-in-laws Jacqueline Coolican, Maureen (Paul) Guliov, Diane Coolican and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ed worked in the Meat and Grocery business for over 40 years, and was a true entrepreneur, owning & operating stores in Barrhead, Davidson, and Ponteix. Ed was always an active member in his church and served on the Knights of Columbus for many years. He volunteered countless hours in his church and community and was always available to lend a hand. He was a loving husband and family man; who enjoyed morning coffees with friends, golfing, playing cards, and watching curling. Due to Covid restrictions a Private Family Service will be held on Monday, February 22 at Notre Dame D’Auvergne Church in Ponteix.”
