From checking out using your smartphone to technology that reduces out of stocks, here’s a glance into what could be coming to a store near you.
1.Toshiba TCxAmplify: allows you to do self-checkout at the grocery store using your smartphone (pictured)
2. Intel MemoMi MemoryMirror: is a smart mirror that allows shoppers to change the colour of their outfit on screen and can even compare two looks side-by-side
3. Panasonic Powershelf: helps retailers reduce their out-of-stocks via a weight-sensitive mat is placed on a shelf. When a consumer takes the last item off the shelf, a store employee instantly gets a text message letting the employee know what exact product needs to be restocked.
4. Shelfbucks: instead of deploying beacons to push coupons to shoppers’ smartphones, Shelfbucks makes the consumer be proactive about conducting research and accessing coupons
5. Microsoft’s fast-food self-ordering kiosk: Some restaurants already using this technology are seeing average check sizes up as well as up-selling options by some 40%.
