These are not your typical vending machines.
Across some of the busy spots in Toronto, there’s a new breed of vending machines offering everything from Rolexes to cupcakes and steaks.
The Toronto Star reports that these deluxe vending machines are popping up at subway stations, malls and downtown areas.
From touchscreens to movies and music to tempt passersby, these new kiosks retail between $20,000-$80,000.
One Toronto company Signifi, will roll out some 40 machines this year. These types of machines could allow grocery stores to sell hot food to go items such as chicken.
Already in other parts of the world, vending machines selling fresh food isn’t out of the norm. France has machines that sell fresh baguettes, while China has vending machines with live crabs.
