Gander, N.L. – June 10th, 2015 – The Gander Consumers Co-op has officially partnered with Colemans in a deal that will see The Coleman Group source and deliver all products including fresh categories, to the supermarket.
“With a strong reputation for sourcing the very best food in the province, we know that this partnership will allow us to better compete with the other stores and deliver a shopping experience that is unlike anything the people of Gander have ever seen before. We couldn’t be more excited about the future of our Co-op,” said store manager, Darrell Pike.
Craig Hall, Co-op Board Chair added: “The vote was unanimous from our members. After the initial presentation, we could tell that as a partner, Colemans would be more than just a supplier dropping stock at the door. Colemans has an innovative approach to the supermarket industry and we look forward to working with their team to enhance the in-store experience for shoppers in the Gander area.”
Mike Coleman, VP of Colemans said: “Colemans, are very proud to partner with the Gander Consumers Co-op. The Gander team has already built a very special supermarket experience and we do not want to change that. We want to help them build on their success. We believe that our two organizations share common values around being independent and we both strongly believe in supporting local – and we both live it proudly every day.”
The partnership with Colemans will transition over the next several weeks.
The Gander Consumers Co-op will be holding an information session and launch celebration in the coming weeks for people to learn more about the benefits of this partnership.
Along with Gander, the Clarenville Area Co-op has also partnered with Colemans in recent weeks.
