Stong’s Market opened the doors to its new 22,500-square-foot Northwoods store in North Vancouver on May 28 (gallery below).
The 20,000 sq. ft. store features an in-house dry aged beef case, an HMR department with pizza oven and full-time sushi chef; a full-time professional florist, and a self-serve salad an atipastor bar. There is also an in-store cafe featuring local award-winning coffee (Milano) as well as a dedicated Stong’s Express area front of store.
“Our new store represents a rebirthing of our brand,” said Carson Bonina, front end manager. “We aimed to create a store that changed the way customers perceive their grocery experience. By getting creative with department names and layouts, thinking outside the box, and trying new things, we managed to create a new ‘culture’.”
Bonina points out though that although the store’s new concept is new and modern, their long-time loyal customers can still expect to find the things they loved about our original store, from their our unparalleled selection, high quality meats, or fresh deli.
In addition, he said they are confident customers will find new things to love about Stong’s. “Our customers will also continue to see our passion for local in our new stores, be it a local farm or a mom-and-pop operation down the street. We will continue to be a safe haven for start-up products to get their ideas out into the market.”
Stong’s Ivy store on 27th and Dunbar will open in this winter.
