Galleria offers up scholarships to deserving students

The awards ceremony for 2016 Galleria Supermarket was held on Saturday, August 20, at Galleria Supermarket Thornhill Store.

The Galleria Scholarship fund was started to aid students trying to reach their goals of success in a difficult situation.

This year, a total of $26,000 was given out to 26 students in a ceremony attended by Deb Schulte, MP for King-Vaughan, Hon. Michael Chan, MPP for Markham-Unionville(Minister of International Trade), Thomas A. Barlow, President of CFIG (Canadian federation of independent grocers), and Sandra Yeung-Racco, Councilor of ward 4, City of Vaughan, and among other invited guests.

Galleria CEO Jeffrey Min expressed his gratitude for the increased support for the worthy cause and his wishes to increase Galleria’s involvement in the community in the coming years in addition to the Share the Love, Kimchi Sharing and Rice Cake Soup Events.
