Campbell Soup Company announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Snyder’s-Lance, a leading snacking company that manufactures and markets snack food throughout the United States and Canada.
Snyder’s-Lance is a leader in its core categories including pretzels, sandwich crackers, kettle chips, deli snacks, and organic and natural tortilla chips. Acquiring Snyder’s-Lance brings together our iconic brands such as Goldfish crackers, Tim Tam biscuits, Milano cookies, Royal Dansk butter cookies, with Snyder’s-Lance’s well-known brands, including Snyder’s of Hanover, Lance, Kettle Brand, KETTLE chips, Cape Cod, Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps, Emerald and Late July.
Campbell’s has already declared its intention to focus on Real Food, Transparency & Sustainability, as well as Health & Well-being. Clearly, this acquisition will accelerate their strategy and is in line with their Purpose, ‘real food that matters for life’s moments.’ Snyder’s-Lance’s products and approach are very closely aligned with their Real Food philosophy and furthers their goal of becoming the leading health and well-being food company.
Snyder’s-Lance will become part of Campbell’s Global Biscuits and Snacks division, which includes the company’s Pepperidge Farm, Arnott’s and Kelsen business, and the simple meals and shelf-stable beverages businesses in Australia, Asia Pacific and Latin America. The division is led by Luca Mignini, President.
The combination of Campbell and Snyder’s-Lance can help create value for your shoppers wherever they are, as we drive growth together. We look forward to building our business together and bringing more value to you, our valued customer, said Tom Szostok, Vice President, Sales, Campbell Company of Canada.
Until the transaction closes, which is expected to occur by early in second quarter of calendar 2018, it is business as usual. Both companies will continue to operate independently until the deal is complete. More details in the coming months to follow.
