I am pleased to let you know that Regulation 872 of the Ontario Food Terminal Act has been updated with two new regulations.
These changes support the expanded definition of what products can be sold at the Terminal, and allow the General Manager to create protocols, for example, to prevent the transmission of communicable diseases.
This step is part of our government’s mandate to create more economic opportunities for farmers and the agri-food sector by modernizing the governance and operations of the Ontario Food Terminal.
These changes are designed to make it easier to improve health and safety at the Terminal, strengthen the food supply chain by expanding the scope of products that can be sold, and better plan for future projects to maintain the Terminal’s long-term viability in its current location.
Please accept my best wishes.
Sincerely,
