The grocery industry’s biggest event takes place Oct. 24 & 25, 2023 at the Toronto Congress Centre. Attendees can take in the latest innovations, as well as hear from industry experts on topics concerning their business.
The event kicks off on Tuesday with a panel on the Code of Conduct in grocery. Join CFIG’s Gary Sands, Giancarlo Trimarchi, Vince’s Market and Michael Graydon, FHCP, to now learn what the Code will mean for your business and how you can ensure it benefits you in the years ahead. Members of the Industry group who constructed the Code will go through key provisions and answer your questions.

Next BMO’s Chief Economist Douglas Porter will provide a look into macroeconomic and financial market trends affecting the grocery sector and consumer retailing.
The trade show opens daily at 11:00am – and features innovations across various categories – from equipment to technology to the latest in specialty and global foods. Pavilions to check out: Sustainability Sentral, Choose Ontario and First Timers.
During the afternoons, there are sessions on the Interac Insights & Innovations Stage that will provide information on topics concerning grocers, from the plastics legislation, to the upcoming flavours to be aware of.
There are plenty of networking events for attendees to connect and meet with industry colleagues face to face. Monday there is the opening reception; Tuesday the Mix and Mingle reception takes place at 4:30pm followed by the Master Merchandising Awards celebrating the best displays. The New Product Showcases in the lobby will provide a look into the future of grocery shelves. The best retailers in Canada will be awarded hardware on Wednesday evening at the Independent Grocer of the Year Awards.
The morning conference sessions are not to be missed, from the panel discussion on the ethnic category with Justin Poy and experts in the field, the breakout workshop sessions will also provide new ideas and considerations for grocers.
