The Calgary Food & Drug Executives announced 2025 two outstanding leaders of the CPG industry: Ron Welke, President &CEO of CFIG, and Gary Hughes, Local Development Specialist at Sobeys, on its twenty-fifth year for a memorable celebration at the Carriage House Hotel & Conference Centre on Nov. 27.
Each year, CFDE acknowledges the contributions of leaders in the retailer and supplier community by honouring individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and leadership to the industry, the CFDE, and the community (charitable and other community service involvement)—highlighting them as being among the best of the best in the industry. All funds raised from the event are donated directly to the community for the specific causes identified by the nominees. Ron Welke’s charity of choice is Hope’s Home, that provides medically inclusive Early Learning & Child Care services and supportive living homes.
