Longo Bros. Fruit Markets announced some organizational changes that its CEO said will set the company up for continued success as it pursues its growth strategy into 2015 and beyond.
Anthony Longo, president and CEO of Longo Bros. Fruit Markets announced that he was “excited about our new ‘refreshed’ organization, which is rooted in our strengths as a family business. The new structure better aligns our business to continue to provide excellent customer service, support our Focus on Fresh, and maintain our strong culture and corporate values.”
Among the changes: Joey Longo will be taking on a new role as Chief Development Officer, providing leadership for new store development, property and facilities management, and centralized procurement and services. “This function will provide execution excellence for our growth plans,” said Anthony Longo.
Dave Mastroieni, formerly Vice President Distribution Centre, has moved to a newly-created role of Vice President, Central Procurement & Facilities Management (for not-for-resale products only) and will report to Joey Longo.
Michael Forgione has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer, reporting directly to the CEO. “Michael will have responsibility for the operating components of the business, including Merchandising and Category Management, Marketing, Store Operations, Supply Chain and our Grocery Gateway online business,” said Longo’s CEO.
Pat Pessotto, Vice President Category Management and Merchandising will report to Michael, and provide leadership for all merchandising areas including fresh and grocery.
Mike Longo, formerly Vice President Fresh Merchandising, is moving to the newly-created role of Vice President Business Transformation, leading an exciting new initiative to implement integrated systems and business solutions that will set our company up for continued success as we grow. Mike will partner with Jim Black, Chief Information Officer, on this important project, and both will report directly to the CEO. Mike will also continue to oversee all Food Services operations.
Harpreet Ferron, formerly Director Merchandising Grocery/Dairy/Frozen, HABA and Pharmacy, will be taking on a new role as Director Merchandising, Pricing and Planning with responsibility for pricing, planograms, merchandise strategy and analytics. Also joining the Longo’s team is Brian Grigat as Director Grocery/Dairy/Frozen, HABA and Pharmacy.
