Functional food tops on Google trends

In Google’s new Food Trends Report it analyzed Google Search data to find five major trends.

They were: Food With a Function;  Traveling Through Taste; Experimenting With Pork; Bite-Sized Snacks; and The Pasta Comeback.

Some of the top trending foods with a function searches were: Turmeric, Apple Cider Vinegar, Jackfruit, Manuka, Honey, Kefir.

Rising trends in traveling through taste by volume in searches included: Pho, Ramen, Mexican Candy, Bibimbap, Taquitos, Empanada.

The report stated “as consumers strive to taste the world, there’s new opportunity for brands to help make these dishes more DIY-friendly. Brands may also look into partnering with influencers to provide authentic cultural experiences via content and endorsements.”

For pork, top searches were around Pork Shoulder, Andouille Sausage, Bacon Jam, Smoked Sausage, Pig Feet.

Among bite-sized snacks, top searches included: Mug Cake,Cheese Curds,Mochi IceCream,Edible Cookie Dough,Buffalo Cauliflower Bites.
