Brian Bradley, Chair of Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers (CFIG), Ron Welke, President and CEO, and the CFIG Board of Directors are pleased to announce Scott Lorimer, Vice President of Sales at Campbell Company of Canada, as the 2025 recipient of CFIG’s prestigious Life Member Award in the Industry Builder category and Kruger Products CEO Dino Bianco is the winner of its 2025 Spirit of the Independent Award.
CFIG’s Life Member Designation recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to the Canadian food industry. Lorimer is known for building strong customer partnerships and delivering sustainable business growth.
The executive started his career with roles at Unilever and PepsiCo Foods before moving into senior sales positions at SC Johnson Canada. Lorimer later took on the role of senior vice-president of retail sales at Maple Leaf Foods, where he led cross-functional retail strategies across the country. This year, he joined Campbell Company of Canada as vice-president of sales, Canada, overseeing the food company’s retail sales across the soup, snack and beverage categories.
The Spirit of the Independent Award is handed out to individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth of the entrepreneurial spirt of Canadian grocers. Bianco is a recognized leader in the grocery industry with top roles at Kruger Products as well as Kraft Canada, where he served as president, and Kraft U.S. where he was president of the company’s beverage division.
Bianco’s work championing innovation and bold marketing campaigns have earned him numerous accolades including The Golden Pencil Award and the Canadian Grand Prix Lifetime Achievement Award.
Both Bianco and Lorimer will be recognized at the Canadian Independent Grocer of the Year awards gala on Oct. 29 at Grocery Innovations Canada at the Toronto Congress Centre.
