Rosanne Longo, chair of the Longo’s Family Charitable Foundation, talked about what differentiates Longo’s from other grocers in a recent interview with Blogtalkradio.
She also spoke about the grocer’s commitment to fresh and local.
Longo’s, started in 1956, has grown to 28-stores in the Greater Toronto Area.
Last year, Longo’s showcased its ability to build relationships with its growers by taking 40 of their produce experts to California farms for five days, and cheese experts to Quebec to learn about soft cheese. Every year, they also see their local growers.
She added, “We hire for values, train for skills.”
