Powell’s Supermarket in Conception Bay North, Newfoundland and Labrador, is alive with the Christmas Spirit! Powell’s Supermarket have been giving back throughout the month to show their customer appreciation and community support.
Children in Need
The Powell’s Supermarket team members in Harbour Grace decided not to participate in “Secret Santa” this year. They grouped together the money they would have spent on Secret Santa and purchased toys for the local Toy Tree. All the toys will be distributed to children in need throughout the community this holiday season. The customer feedback for this initiative has been outstanding, even going as far as to persuade surrounding businesses to do the same.
Santa Claus Parade
During the recent Santa Claus Parade, Powell’s Supermarket team members in Bay Roberts surprised parade-goes with free hot chocolate and cookies. The weather was unusually cold for the annual parade so the hot chocolate was a huge hit.
Breakfast with Santa
Powell’s Supermarket invited customers to enjoy Breakfast with Santa. Families enjoyed free pancakes and hot chocolate with Santa before getting photos with the big guy, at no cost to Mom and Dad. Letters to Santa were collected and prizes given out.
Community Christmas Dinner
Powell’s Supermarket, in partnership with Atlantic Grocery Distributors under the Powell Group of Companies, were proud to donate plates, utensils, napkins and other resources to the Mary Brown’s Community Christmas Dinner for the Salvation Army. This event in an annual dinner to help feed 500 members of the community, and to help keep the Christmas Spirit alive.
